Spring 2016 - The Challenge of Islam (Part Two): Defending the Christian Faith In our first study of Islam we examined the core beliefs of Muslims. In "The Challenge of Islam (Part Two): Defending the Christian Faith," we will discuss Islamic assumptions about Christianity, the three phases of jihad, and talking points for sharing our Christian hope with Muslims. Winter 2015 - The Challenge of Islam (Part One): What is Islam? The study explores the fundamentals of Islam and some basic differences from Christianity. This Bible study is from Lutheran Hour Ministries Men's Network. It is 5 weeks long starting on Jan 6th and ends the week before Ash Wednesday. Fall 2015 - A Man Named Martin 2014-15 - The Story Zion engaged in a congregation-wide study of The Story which is a summary of the Bible in 31 sessions. Groups met on Wednesdays, either at 9am or 1pm or 7pm. A video segment was viewed, followed by small-group discussion. To encourage family participation for the 7pm study, a meal was offered (6-6:45pm). The course, which started in late September and ran through mid-May, involved about 70 members of our congregation. |
