Ladies AidWhat is Zion's Ladies Aid?
The Zion Ladies Aid is a part of the above mentioned organization, working in tandem with the LWML to provide assistance and critical services to our church and the families of Zion in a variety of ways. The church altar paraments don't just show up in proper theme every week, nor does the communion set-up simply happen by itself. There are many busy women who make time in their lives to be of service to their Lord and to Zion congregation through its various committees. Families of deceased members of Zion may take comfort in knowing that our organization is standing ready to assist them in their time of need upon the death of their loved one with preparation, serving and clean-up of the funeral luncheon. Many of the women of our organization hold full-time jobs whether outside the home or fulfilling the responsibilities of their farming operation. Our church is indeed blessed by the many women who make personal sacrifices to serve our congregation and its members. We also invite women not members of our organization to volunteer to help on the various committees. You can become one of these volunteers by contacting one of the LA/LWML officers listed below. The Zion Lutheran Women's Missionary League is a group of dedicated women, working together to help spread the Gospel throughout the world, to affirm each woman's relationship with her Triune God, and to encourage one another to use her gifts and talents in service to the Lord and His church. Any lady 18 years of age or older, who believes in the teaching of the Church is welcome to join this society. New members are always welcome. To join, just come to a monthly meeting and make your intentions known. Offerings/Donations 75% of our monthly "Mite" offerings remains with our Minnesota South District to help meet our District goal. 25% of our monthly "Mite" offering is sent to the national LWML to help meet our national goal. Lutheran High School in Mayer is the recipient of a monthly gift of $25 each month of the year. A second gift of $25 is also given each month to a Christian organization in need. The members of our organization who are present at the monthly meeting vote to select the recipient of this gift. LWML Pledge In fervent gratitude for the Savior's dying love And His blood-bought gift of redemption, we dedicate ourselves to Him with all that we are and have, And in obedience to His call for workers in the harvest field, We pledge Him our willing service, Wherever and whenever He has need of us. We consecrate to our Savior our hands to work for Him, our feet to go on His errands, our voice to sing His praises, our lips to proclaim His redeeming love, our silver and our gold to extend His Kingdom, our will to do His will, and every power of our life to the great task of bringing the lost and erring into eternal fellowship with Him.
